Incident

SPILL CONTROL – December 18th Route 772 and Skyview Lane for a flatbed truck had a generator fall off truck and diesel fluid all over the roadway.  Generator back on the truck and cleaned up diesel fluid.  1 engine, duty vehicle, squad, 8 firefighters, 2 junior firefighters responded, traveled 4 miles and we were in service 36 minutes. 

MEDICAL ASSIST – December 18th at 113 Meadow Lane for an assist to the Ambulance 24-1 to get patient off the floor. 1 engine, squad, 9 firefighters, 1 junior firefighter responded, traveled .5 mile and we were in service 25 minutes. 

MEDICAL ASSIST – December 18th at 113 Meadow Lane for an assist to the Ambulance 24-1 to get patient into the ambulance.  1 engine, duty vehicle , 8 firefighters, 1 junior firefighter responded, traveled .5 mile and we were in service 25 minutes. 

ASSIST CALL – December 23rd at 35 Royal Drive for an assist to Lititz Fire Co. on a dwelling fire and we assisted with ventilation,  1 engine, duty vehicle, 11 firefighters, 2 fire police responded, traveled 6 miles and we were in service 37 minutes.

INVESTIGATION INSIDE – December 26th 2 Round House Drive for homeowner came home from being away and smelled gas from the gas fireplace.  Metered the house and had no readings.  Advised homeowner to keep gas off and have fireplace serviced.  1 engine, duty vehicle, 11 firefighters, 3 junior firefighters responded, 4 miles and we were in service 21 minutes.

AUTOMATIC FIRE ALARM – December 27th at 16 Iron Horse Drive for an automatic fire alarm, upstairs smoke due to shower steam,   Capt. Lamb on the scene and fire department services not needed.  No apparatus, 12 firefighters, no fire police, 5 junior firefighters responded, traveled no miles and we were in service 6 minutes. 

VEHICLE ACCIDENT – December 29th at 500 Becker Road for a vehicle that left the road and end up in a field.   1 engine, squad, duty vehicle and ambulance, 15 firefighters, 1 fire police, 3 junior firefighter, 2 ambulance personnel responded, traveled 6 miles and we were in service 24 minutes.

VEHICLE ACCIDENT – December 30th at 832 Disston View Drive for a vehicle that went into a dwelling but no damage.  This was a pizza deliveryman was not injured and vehicle was able to be driven from the scene.   1 engine, squad, duty vehicle, 11 firefighters, 1 fire police, 5 junior firefighters responded, traveled 4 miles and we were in service 13 minutes.

The Rothsville Volunteer Fire Company responded to 8 incidents for the months of December.  Responding to these calls were 85 firefighters, 4 fire police, 20 junior firefighters, 6 ambulance personnel, traveled 25 miles, and we were in service 3 hours and 8 minutes.

The Rothsville Volunteer Fire Company Ambulance responded to 72 calls, 144 personnel responding to the calls, traveled 1,085 miles and we were in service 57.6 hours.

Total calls for the Rothsville Volunteer Fire Company was 80 for the month of December.
