Incident

INVESTIGATION UTILITY WIRES – April 5th at 139 Briar Hill Road for a large tree and PPL wires on the roadway, shut down road.  1 engine, duty vehicle, 4 firefighters, 1 fire police responded, traveled 3 miles and we were in service 46 minutes. 

ASSIST CALL– April 5th at 51 S. Heck Road for an assist to Rothsville Vol. Fire Co. ambulance on a cardiac arrest but we were recalled.  Squad, duty vehicle, 8 firefighters, 1 junior firefighter responded, traveled no miles and we were in service 5 minutes.

VEHICLE FIRE – April 7th at 22 Church Street for two vehicles that were on fire near the garage and we extinguished the vehicle fires.  The fire didn’t extend to the garage but burnt a part of the fence.  2 engines, duty vehicle, 8 firefighters, 1 fire police responded, traveled 1/2 mile and we were in service 57 minutes.  NLCRPD was on the scene.

VEHICLE FIRE – April 7th at 22 Church Street for one vehicle that started on fire the contents of the trunk, we extinguished the vehicle fire.  2 engines, duty vehicle, 11 firefighters, 1 junior firefighter responded, traveled 1/2 mile and we were in service 48 minutes. 

ASSIST CALL– April 8th at 491 Church Avenue for an assist to Ephrata Pioneer Fire Co. on an apartment building fire but we were staged upon arrival.  1 engine, 10 firefighters, 3 fire police responded, traveled 10 miles and we were in service 51 minutes.

GOOD INTENT CALL – April 21st at 2071 Main Street for an investigation of an asphalt tanker truck on fire but it was unfounded.  Duty vehicle, Lititz Fire Co. engine 25-1 and held Engines 24-2 and Engine 29-1 in station, 10 firefighters, 1 fire police responded, traveled 6 miles and we were in service 9 minutes.

DWELLING FIRE – April 23rd at 20 Star Lite Drive for dwelling fire in master bedroom, extinguished, salvage, overhaul and ventilated dwelling.  The fire was accidental in nature with fire damaged confined to bedroom and smoke damage to rest of dwelling.   2 engines, duty vehicle, squad, ambulance, 16 firefighters, 1 junior firefighter, 2 ambulance personnel responded, traveled 8 miles and we were in service 1 hour and 38 minutes.  Assisted by NLCRPD, engines from Brunnerville, Lititz, Neffsville, West Earl fire companies, Lititz ladder truck, and an additional ambulance from Warwick Ambulance.

STANDBY/TRANSFER– April 27th at 83 S. Main Street for a standby at Manheim Fire Station while they were on another call.  1 engine, 6 firefighters, 1 junior firefighter responded, traveled 18 miles and we were in service 2 hours and 8 minutes.

The Rothsville Volunteer Fire Company responded to 8 incidents for the month of April. Responding to those calls were 73 firefighters, 6 fire police, 4 junior firefighters, 4 ambulance personnel, traveled 46 miles, and we were in service 7 hours and 22 minutes.

The Rothsville Volunteer Fire Company Ambulance responded to 79 calls, 175 personnel responding to the calls, traveled 1,050 miles and we were in service 83.7 hours.

Total calls for the Rothsville Volunteer Fire Company was 87 for the month of April.
