Incident

ASSIST CALL– April 2nd at 476 Balmer Road for an assist to Lititz Fire Co. on a second alarm dwelling fire.  2 engines, squad, ambulance. 16 firefighters, 3 fire police, 3 Jr. firefighters, 2 ambulance personnel responded, traveled 6 miles and we were in service 3 hours 6 minutes.

MULCH FIRE – April 6th at 550 Stauffer Road for a large pile of mulch on fire at Warwick Township Woody Recycle Site.  1 engine, 10 firefighters responded, traveled 6.5 miles and we were in service 44 minutes.  We were assisted by Lititz Fire Co. engine 25-1 and Warwick Township used a loader to spread the mulch around.

INVESTIGATION-OUTSIDE – April 6th at 550 Stauffer Road for the remaining mulch pile started to burn at the woody recycle site.  1 engine, 9 firefighters responded, traveled 6.5 miles and we were in service 32 minutes.  Township loader spread the remaining mulch out so the rain would extinguish the fire.

STANDBY/TRANSFER– April 15th at 6076 Pine Street for a standby at East Petersburg Fire Station while they were another call.  1 engine, 7 firefighters responded, traveled 16 miles and we were in service 1 hour and 49 minutes.

VEHICLE ACCIDENT – April 17th at 15 Karen Court for a vehicle that drifted down a grade and into a dwelling, no one was in the vehicle at the time of the accident.  1 engine, duty vehicle, 7 firefighters, 1 fire police, 1 Jr. firefighter responded, traveled 4 miles and we were in service 21 minutes. 

ASSIST CALL– April 18th at 56 E. Main Street for an assist to West Earl Fire Co. on a dwelling fire but we were recalled while responding.  1 engine, 6 firefighters, 2 Jr. firefighters responded, traveled 3 miles and we were in service 8 minutes.

ASSIST CALL– April 20th at 104 Washington Avenue for an assist to Ephrata Pioneer Fire Co. on an apartment building fire but we were recalled while responding.  1 engine, 6 firefighters responded, traveled 1 mile and we were in service 8 minutes.

AUTOMATIC FIRE ALARM – April 28th at 125 Millwyck Road for a plumbing company was running a fog machine that set off the alarm.  1 engine, duty vehicle, 9 firefighters responded, traveled 5 miles and we were in service 12 minutes.

VEHICLE ACCIDENT INVOLVING A MOTORCYCLE – April 28th at Meadow Valley and Middle Creek Roads for a vehicle accident that involved a motorcycle with one injury.  1 engine, duty vehicle, ambulance, 7 firefighters, 2 ambulance personnel, 2 Jr. firefighters responded, traveled 6 miles and we were in service 14 minutes. 

INVESTIGATION-OUTSIDE – April 29th a resident at 2104 Main Street saw smoke and was concerned but resident at 2111 Main Street was having a campfire.  1 engine, duty vehicle, 9 firefighters, 1 Jr. firefighter responded, traveled .25 mile and we were in service 17 minutes.

STANDBY/TRANSFER– April 15th at 6076 Pine Street for a standby at East Petersburg Fire Station while they were on a barn fire.  1 engine, 6 firefighters responded, traveled 16 miles and we were in service 1 hour and 4 minutes.

The Rothsville Volunteer Fire Company responded to 11 incidents for the month of April. Responding to those calls were 92 firefighters, 4 fire police, 9 junior firefighters, 4 ambulance personnel, traveled 70.25 miles, and we were in service 8 hours and 35 minutes.

The Rothsville Volunteer Fire Company Ambulance responded to 63 calls, 137 personnel responding to the calls, traveled 1,063.1 miles and we were in service 76.9 hours.

Total calls for the Rothsville Volunteer Fire Company was 74 for the month of April.
