Incident

INVESTIGATION-INSIDE – April 8th at 2000 Old Rothsville Road for a smell of propane and no one is feeling ill, have a small tank for appliances. 1 engine, duty vehicle, 10 fire personnel responded, traveled 2.5 miles and we were in service 19 minutes.

INVESTIGATION-INSIDE – April 11th at 121 Pleasant View Drive for an electrical that blew out flames and wall is hot.  1 engine, duty vehicle, 9 fire personnel responded, traveled 2 miles and we were in service 33 minutes.

ASSIST CALL– April 12th at 641 Chickadee Drive for an assist to Lititz Fire Co. on a dwelling fire but we were recalled while responding.  1 engine, duty vehicle, 18 fire  personnel responded, traveled .5 mile and we were in service 6 minutes.

STANDBY/TRANSFER– April 12th at 6076 Pine Street for a standby at East Petersburg Fire Station while they were on a fire call.  1 engine, 12 fire personnel responded, traveled 17 miles and we were in service 1 hour and 26 minutes.

RESCUE-WATER ROADWAY – April 13th at 18 Cocalico Road for a vehicle stuck in flooded water, vehicle not floating, no boats needed, extricated at 15:51.  Chief held response to 24 units, 2 engines, squad, Amb. 24-1, duty vehicle, 20 fire personnel responded, traveled 3.2 miles and we were in service 17 minutes. 

VEHICLE ACCIDENT W/TRACTOR TRAILER – April 14th at 1542 E. Newport Road for a vehicle accident with a station wagon ran into the back of a tractor trailer and fluids leaking.  One patent taken to hospital.   2 engines, squad, ambulance, duty vehicle, 20 fire personnel responded, traveled 3 miles and we were in service 48 minutes. 

UNKNOWN TYPE FIRE – April 18th at 1011 Rabbit Hill Road for a good intent call, caller heard 2 loud explosions with smoke.  Fire Co. not needed Police Dept. will handle this call.  1 engine, duty vehicle, 18 fire personnel responded, traveled 3 miles and we were in service 9 minutes. 

BRUSH FIRE – April 21st at 1499 Rothsville Road for a small brush fire we investigated but we could not locate any fire.  Police Dept. told us we can clear the call.  2 engines, squad, duty vehicle, 10 fire personnel responded, traveled 1.5 miles and we were in service 31 minutes.

ASSIST CALL– April 22nd at 305 E. Lexington Road for an assist to Brunnerville Fire Co. on a dwelling fire reported working fire on the inside. 1 engine, duty vehicle, 6 fire personnel responded, traveled 9.5 miles and we were in service 29 minutes.

INVESTIGATION-INSIDE – April 26th at 960 Disston View Drive for smoke detector sounding in basement, no fire unintentional.   2 engines, duty vehicle, 10 fire personnel responded, traveled 3 miles and we were in service 36 minutes.

AUTOMATIC FIRE ALARM – April 29th at 1606 Rothsville Road for an automatic fire alarm that was set off by cooking, homeowner wishes to cancel.  Duty vehicle, 9 fire personnel responded, traveled 1 mile and we were in service 3 minutes.

The Rothsville Volunteer Fire Company responded to 11 incidents for the month of April. Responding to those calls were 159 fire personnel, traveled 46.1 miles, and we were in service 5 hours and 17 minutes.

The Rothsville Volunteer Fire Company Ambulance responded to 57 calls, 106 personnel responding to the calls, traveled 865 miles and we were in service 45.2 hours.

Total calls for the Rothsville Volunteer Fire Company was 68 for the month of April.
