Incident

AUTOMATIC FIRE ALARM – December 2nd 125 Millwyck Road for smoke detector set off by a steam machine in the exercise room.  1 engine, duty vehicle, 9 firefighters, 1 fire police, 1 junior firefighter responded, traveled 4 miles and we were in service 12 minutes. 

PUBLIC SERVICE – December 4th at 2320 Rothsville Road for a report of a stuck elevator; second call elevator working and we should cancel. 1 engine, 4 firefighters, 1 Jr. firefighter responded, traveled .3 mile and we were in service 7 minutes. 

ASSIST CALL – December 6th at 4161 Oregon Pike for an assist to West Earl Fire Co. on a vehicle accident while their engine was out of service but we were not needed.  1 engine, 8 firefighters, 1 Jr. firefighter responded, traveled 6 miles and we were in service 14 minutes.

VEHICLE ACCIDENT – December 7nd at 500 Becker Road for a motorcycle accident with no injury and fire department not needed.  Duty Vehicle and ambulance, 9 firefighters, 1 fire police, 1 Jr. firefighter, 2 ambulance personnel responded, traveled 5 miles and we were in service 6 minutes.

DWELLING FIRE – December 13th at 2168 Main Street for a 2 ½ single family dwelling fire at chimney and wood stove.  Fire showing interior and exterior.  2 engines, squad, duty vehicle, 1 ambulance, 14 firefighters, 2 ambulance personnel, 1 Jr. firefighter responded, traveled .5 mile and we were in service 3 hours and 9 minutes.  Assisting was Northern Lancaster County Regional Police Dept., State Police Fire Marshal, Brunnerville Fire Co. engine 22-1, Lititz Fire Co. truck 25, West Earl Fire Co. tanker 29 and traffic 29 and Fire Police from Akron Fire Co.

ASSIST CALL – December 17th at 126 Snavely Mill Road for an assist to Brunnerville Fire Co. on a barn fire, we filled tankers at Snavely’s Mill.  1 engine, squad, duty vehicle, 17 firefighters, 1 fire police, 3 Jr. firefighters responded, traveled 12 miles and we were in service 3 hours and 4 minutes.

ASSIST CALL – December 22nd at 401 W. Lincoln Avenue for an assist to Lititz Fire Co. on a dwelling fire but we were recalled because it was a controlled burn.  Duty vehicle, 10 firefighters, 1 fire police, 2 Jr. firefighters responded, traveled no miles and we were in service 5 minutes.

INVESTIGATION – December 28th 745 E. Millport Road for a reported large trash fire but it turned out to be an outside furnace.  Duty vehicle, 10 firefighters, 2 Jr. firefighters responded, 1 mile and we were in service 11 minutes. 

ASSIST CALL – December 30th at 54 Terrace Avenue for an assist to Ephrata Pioneer Fire Co. on a dwelling fire but we were recalled while in station.  8 firefighters, 1 fire police, 1 Jr. firefighter responded, traveled no miles and we were in service 7 minutes.

ASSIST CALL – December 30th at 1 West Main Street for an assist to Ephrata Pioneer Fire Co. on an apartment building fire but we were recalled while responding.  1 engine, 11 firefighters, 1 fire police, 1 Jr. firefighter responded, traveled 6 miles and we were in service 9 minutes.

AUTOMATIC FIRE ALARM – December 30th at 30 Skyview Lane for burnt food in the oven activated the alarm.  1 engine, duty vehicle, 8 firefighters, 1 fire police, 1 Jr. firefighter responded, traveled 3 miles and we were in service 10 minutes.

The Rothsville Volunteer Fire Company responded to 11 incidents for the months of December.  Responding to these calls were 108 firefighters, 7 fire police, 15 junior firefighters, 6 ambulance personnel, traveled 32.8 miles, and we were in service 7 hours and 34 minutes.

The Rothsville Volunteer Fire Company Ambulance responded to 54 calls, 115 personnel responding to the calls, traveled 465.3 miles and we were in service 54.0 hours.

Total calls for the Rothsville Volunteer Fire Company was 65 for the month of December.
