Both this ambulance and the 2009 Chevy ambulance (purchased in 2010) respond to medical calls and fire calls within the Rothsville Fire and Ambulance primary district and surrounding areas. Units are rotated for service and use the call signs of Ambulance 24-1 and Ambulance 24-2.
Squad 24-1: 2015 Ford F350 4WD Super Duty with a Dejana Utility Box. This unit is used to transport additional personnel to emergency scenes and training classes and carries misc. equipment such as medical supplies, including an AED; traffic control devices; vehicle rescue equipment; water rescue equipment; spill control equipment; fire extinguishers; scene lighting and 3 SCBA’s. Unit was purchased new from 10-8 Emergency Vehicle Services in New Holland in late 2014.
Duty Officer Vehicle: 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe 4WD. Unit has a Command Console, an AED, SCBA and an iPad and other supplies needed to manage an incident. It is typically driven by the Duty Chief or Line Officer to handle command functions at emergency incidents. This vehicle was purchased new from Hondru Auto in Manheim in late 2014 for approximately $50,000.
